Tell me how you really feel!
An introduction into your emotions
If the pandemic and lockdowns have shown us anything, it’s that managing our emotions is crucial. Whether we are alone or surrounded by people, emotional awareness is key to any situation, especially in those that challenge us.
If you don’t know how to deal with your own and other people’s emotions, chances are you will
blow up and lose the plot at an unexpected time
blame others for how you feel
push down uncomfortable feelings and numb yourself
medicate with food or alcohol, gaming or binge-watching Netflix
When you learn how to recognise and manage your emotions, the benefits are far-reaching. You will find that
you are immune to button pushing
you have more energy to do the things that matter
potential conflict becomes a constructive discussion
you have more trust in yourself and others
your self-esteem improves
There is a very good chance that you didn’t learn how to manage emotions in school. Like most of us, you learned how to deal with your emotions from your parents, grandparents, mentors, and friends - without ever really talking about it. Like many other life skills, the best ways to deal with unpleasant emotions - or even having more pleasant emotions - is not something we discuss openly.
So let’s have the conversation. Let’s find out what triggers you, talk about healthy and dysfunctional ways of managing emotions and much more…
Here is your opportunity to ask the questions about emotions you would have always liked to ask!
Join me for an exploration of one of the most important aspects of being human and find out how you really feel.
